|
|
Well just recently I've decided to purchase a laptop. I've checked local stores aside from Office Max (i'll get around to that soon enough), and I'm also checking into newegg.com. I'm looking at about $750 maximum for my purchase. I'd also like to get something that will last for about 2 hours or more off of the battery.
I've found absolutely nothing worth the money at any local stores, so I'm pretty much going to wait until I've had the opportunity to check that Office Max. I've got several things in mind from newegg.com however.
These are the two I'm looking at, numbered in the order of favorism.
1.) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834147277
2.) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834147310
I like #1 a lot more than I like #2, mostly due to the fact that #1 looks better and is much more slimmer. #1 also has an AMD Turion, is probably lighter, a faster harddrive with a SATA connection, and DDR2 memory.
I'm mostly looking for any opinions on my decisions and any further recommendations from others. _________________

No-one wants to help poor ol' skie T.T
Either way, I decided to go with a slightly slow version of #1, it has a mobile AMD Sempron processor instead of a Turion MK-36, but either way i got it for $550, office max was having a blow out sale (save 110 dollars on this puppy), and I'm happy. _________________

Mmhmm I have. It's essentially the same exact thing as #1, cept I bought it at the local Office Max, it was only 550 dollars (they had a 110 discount on it), and the processor is just a bit different.
Instead of getting an AMD Turion MK-36 like the one I had in mind from newegg, it has an AMD Mobile Sempron. The processor may be worse, but I saved over $200 on this alternative. Now I have some spending money, which I used to get a wireless router and am still deciding what to do with the rest of my left over money.
I'm using the laptop a lot more than the desktop now, cause it navigates through the OS faster than my desktop. The SATA drive (even at 5400rpm) accesses so much faster than the IDE drive I still have in my white box desktop. I really need to get a SATA drive for it. _________________

WOW I would have thought that you would already have a SATA drive for your white box. Also if you do plan on buying a SATA, which one and what brand? _________________
